Case Study: Experiences of the Complementary Pension Operator of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund in Adopting Responsible Investment Principles
The purpose of this case study is to examine the responsible investment practices and strategies adopted by the Complementary Pension Operator of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (OPC-CCSS, for its acronym in Spanish), as well as the current and expected impact of its investment portfolio. The objective is to identify lessons learned, improvement opportunities, and recommendations both for the OPC-CCSS and for Costa Rica’s financial industry – particularly for institutions involved in investment management, such as pension operators and funds, brokerage firms, and insurance companies.
